Steve Parish has dismissed suggestions again that Palace are on the verge of a takeover, but our co chairman did admit that talks do get held with various parties during a season when it comes to potential investments, but most of the time they don’t get leaked to the press so people don’t realise they normally come to nothing in the end.
Speaking to the Croydon Guardian Parish wouldn’t comment specifically on the Josh Harris link, but explained in general terms.
‘There are always people who want to buy football clubs. Sometimes people approach you and it gets out, sometimes people approach you and it doesn’t, but there is no imminent takeover. We are talking to a number of people on a number of fronts.’
Parish goes on to say that he and the board are always looking at potential possibilities, and he accepts there are many possibilities out there, but people have got very ahead of themselves on this particularly link and made assumptions that just aren’t there at the moment.
‘I’ve always said that if somebody wanted to invest in the club and move it forward quicker that I or we can then we would entertain it.’
