Crystal Palace earlier tonight earned their first league win in nine games with a two one victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

Having fallen behind to an early second half goal from the opposition, we got back on level terms with a penalty dispatched by Dwight Gayle before Punch then scored the winner ten minutes from time.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC following the game, and manager Alan Pardew’s debut home win, the winger hailed the belief of the team to keep fighting in the game.

‘It’s a great feeling to score the winner at the Holmesdale End but the important thing is that we got the three points today. I think it was a bit cagey in the first half and Glenn’s just come back so you can’t blame him for that chance, but the second half showed our team spirit, character and belief and I think that was the Crystal Palace that we know in the second half. Everybody was brilliant, the two substitutes did well as well so it was a great team performance.’

Puncheon goes onto say that he knows we didn’t have many opportunities in the first half but he did feel that the game really opened up in the second period and we started to create more and cause them more problems, so there was confidence that if we could hit the target we had a good chance of scoring in the game.

‘I think we thoroughly deserved those three points. Today’s game was all about getting three points and the fans got right behind us and it was back to being the Selhurst Park that we know. We’ve got a massive game now next week against Burnley and we’ve got to win the games against teams around us.’
