It’s being reported today that Crystal Palace are already preparing a bid for Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani.
News Shopper state that reports in Portugal are linking us again with a move for the 27 year old, and fans with long memories may remember he was one of the tentative links we had over the summer transfer window but nothing seemed to come of it, and he disappeared from the radar as quickly as he arrived from my memory.
It is now said that a bid of around £9million was lodged a few months back though but it was rejected.
With us presumably failing in the last window, it’s said we have kept an eye on he player and continue to be impressed, so will go back and see if it’s second time lucky come the New Year.
Reports abroad say that whilst we put the finishing touches on an offer, we have already held talks with the clubs to try and smooth a deal through.
Slimani is an Algerian international with 41 caps, and he has scored 27 times in 57 appearances for Sporting Lisbon since joining them from CR Belouizdad back in 2013.
