When a manager moves on, sacked or resigns, players invariable come out in equal measures of support or attack of them – this isn’t any different with Neil Warnock.

Two to speak out against Warnock, following his sacking at the weekend, are Jerome Thomas and Damien Delaney….

Winger Thomas, limited to just six-minutes of football under Warnock this season, has been quoted in the South London Press as saying that he is looking for an ‘ambitious and positive’ manager to come in that he can have a ‘relationship’ with, which he says he didn’t with Warnock.

He said: ‘I didn’t really have a relationship with him. I found out (about Warnock) coming into training in the morning, five minutes before it was on Sky Sports News.

‘I’m not sure exactly how it was told to Neil and his staff, but the chairman spoke to us about it for the first time before the QPR game.

‘We need a manager that’s going to be ambitious and be positive, we need more of that.’

Thomas remains certain that whoever comes in, with this set to be Alan Pardew, it isn’t a ‘outlandish job’ at all as things just need ‘a bit of tweaking’ to turn it around.

Delaney, also quoted in the South London Press, wasn’t confident that Warnock would be able to turn things around so felt the board has no option but to sack him….

He said: ‘We were sliding down the league with some bad results and it didn’t look like it was going to change. The owners made a decision and it’s our job to get on with it.

‘We might lack other things, we might lack certain elements of our game but this team will never lack fight and will never lack effort.’

The Palace defender, who agreed a new deal under Warnock, feels that we ‘looked like our old selves’ in our nil-nil draw at Loftus Road on Sunday afternoon.
