The bid to make Kenny Tete the first signing for Frank de Boer since he was appointed Crystal Palace boss could have improved after the Ajax defender was left out of the Dutch clubs training camp in Austria, reports the Croydon Advertiser.

De Boer’s previous with Dutch international Tete, he handed him a debut at Ajax, could sway him towards Selhurst Park but the right back has also been linked with French club Lyon.

Having been granted permission to speak to clubs of interest, Tete, 21, who is out-of-contract at the Amsterdam Arena next summer, was left out of Ajax’s 25 man squad for a training camp in Austria.

Depending on how much you can read into this his exit from the Dutch giants could be imminent and the chance to work with de Boer at Palace, thought to be one of the clubs granted permission to speak with Tete, could see him the first of the Eagles boss’ countryman to pitch up at Selhurst?
