It’s being heavily reported tonight that Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has, or very soon will be, officially confirmed as Neil Warnock’s replacement.
News stepped up as his was installed as some bookies favourites, and that magnified after his no show to the press following their win over Everton, but at the moment the headlines are all over the place with some saying he has now been appointed, and others saying it will be announced when the details are confirmed very shortly.
It appears the ‘he’s now been appointed’ stories come from a Wikipedia change, but press are also saying that earlier today we have agreed a compensation package with Newcastle to enable the move to happen – reported to be in the region of £2.25million – as his contract at St James’ Park runs until 2020.
I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
