April Gong Goes To Pulis

Manager Tony Pulis has been named Manager of the Month for April following our recent performances.

Picking up four straight victories against Cardiff City, Aston Villa, Everton and West Ham United contributed hugely to his monthly accolade Award and it didn’t do any harm to our season either.

Our run of five straight victories was also the first time we had achieved that in the top flight since December 1992 and we are now potentially on the cusp of a top half finish, when many thought we were primed for relegation – especially given how we started the season.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC as he was handed the award, the gaffer said.

‘It’s not about me really, it’s about everyone at the football club and that includes my staff, the players, the chairman and directors and the wonderful support we’ve received all season.’

Pulis goes on to say that at this level especially winning five games on the trot is a fantastic achievement and in his mind it really is all credit to the players for their efforts and their attitude in not only wanting this club to remain in the Premiership but also to push up the league as high as we can.

Obviously with two games remaining Pulis admits this is something he can look back on with a lot of pride along with the other things he has achieved in football, but for now we have two massive games coming up and everyone wants to finish on a high so that’s where our focus will be, and then preparations can really begin – along with a break – for next season.
