Yannick Bolasie and Mile Jedinak have both spoken following the three one victory over Liverpool yesterday afternoon.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC firstly, Man of the Match Bolasie described the week as being the ‘best of his life’ as the Liverpool performance and win topped off the week that saw the Democratic Republic of Congo qualify for the African Cup of Nations, thanks to a brace from him which were his first two international strikes.

‘I think it’s been the best week of my life so far, obviously qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations and scoring two goals in that game, and then today which was a great team effort. I just wanted to play because I had a good feeling as I’d done well against Liverpool last season and it’s turned out that way as we’ve won.’

Bolasie ended by saying that things didn’t look ‘very nice’ in terms of looking at the league table ahead of the game, but the players dug deep and came out with a good result which will boost their confidence now as we head into the Christmas run of fixtures.

With Bolasie also helping to set up two of our goals, Jedinak had his own say on the game with his 30 yarder and he said after the game.

‘It’s a massive win and we needed that big time. The boys knew it was going to be a difficult game but they were first class, especially the boys up top. Yannick, Gayley, Cham and Punch caused mayhem and that was what we wanted, plus we kept it tight at the back after the goal so we’re ecstatic with that.’

Jedinak goes on to say that we’ve had a number of ‘different obstacles’ to try and overcome this season and going behind so early on he was delighted to see the players not let their heads drop and start thinking it was going to be one of those days again, ‘the positivity, the fight and the willingness was first class’ as a response and we ultimately got our just rewards for that.

He finished by joking that he wasn’t sure he was going to even take the free kick when it came along as Gayle wanted to hit it, but he had a feeling and stepped up for it which left young Dwight looking at him with some ‘bemusement’ but thankfully it paid off as it sailed in.

‘I’m just grateful we won the game because we can have a bit of a sigh of relief now.’
