Winger Yannick Bolasie has said that he feels Crystal Palace were unlucky not to have come out of last night’s game against Southampton with something to show for it given our performance.

The one nil loss was set with a goal for the hosts in the final ten minutes of normal time but it’s fair to say they dominated possession and had a host of chances, but with our defensive efforts on the day they did only get three of those efforts on target – and we had three chances of our own.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC following the game, he explained.

‘I think we struggled a little bit in the first half but in the second we kind of picked it up. Myself, Dwight, Punch and Wilfried were causing them quite a few problems and we were unlucky not to score. We just didn’t start quick enough, Southampton did and maybe we could have made it a little bit trickier for them. We created quite a few chances and had some more right at the end so I think we were quite unlucky. I think we deserved something from the game but we have to move on now and look forward.’

Bolasie goes on to say that what we can’t do is let our heads drop because we know Southampton are a good team and although they have been struggling of late in goalscoring terms, they are touch to break down and they have been playing well so we have to take the positives from the match knowing we should really have taken the point.

On to Queens Park Rangers and hopefully victory now.
