Colchester United are poised to sign Crystal Palace youngster Lee Hills on a month’s loan.

Hills has struggled to break into Palace’s first team this season having made just one start and two substitute appearances.

‘He is going to go out on loan for a month to get some games under his belt,’ Warnock told the Colchester Gazette.

‘When Colchester asked about him before we didn’t have any cover for Clint Hill at left back.

‘Rhoys Wiggins wasn’t doing very well then but he’s doing well now so we have decided to let Lee go and get some games and he wants to go out on loan.’

Would be an excellent deal for ColU, and Palace to be honest. A good young full back that needs some experience. Having seen him play I think there’s a chance he’ll be back in the Palace first team before long. A good crop of youth you’ve got there…Envious? Me?
