Manager Alan Pardew has said that he feels Crystal Palace can feel a little bit hard done by following our one nil loss to Chelsea.

The victory obviously saw Chelsea crowned as Premier League Champions for 2014-15, but Pardew feels we may have taken a draw from the game given how hard the team worked and the performance they put in on the day.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC following the game, Pardew explained.

‘They’re difficult once they go ahead, that’s what champions do, they don’t let you back in once they take the lead. They’ve had two defeats all season and they’ve done the job. That’s why this guy earns the money he earns. He wins trophies and he’ll win the manner he sees fit for the occasion. Sometimes fantasy and flair goes out the window to do the job to win.’

With their winning goal coming from a penalty save and the ball rebounding back to the taker, Eden Hazard, Pardew went on to say that he felt for a start it was a harsh penalty decision but then also that he felt we had a good shout for one ourselves up the other end.

‘I do feel a little bit hard done by, I asked the referee at half-time. He said it was an ‘absolute definite penalty, Alan. I don’t know what you’re asking for’. It was a bad piece of luck, really. It was kind of questionable. Then they get another break when he misses it and it goes straight to him. We also felt that Punch’s shot is blocked by John Terry’s body and hand. It could’ve been a penalty for that.’

With that said though he admitted it wasn’t decisions he would ‘jump up and down’ about as sometimes they go for you, and other against you but overall he felt the team gave a ‘great account’ of themselves on the day and could take a lot of positives from the performance.

With Mile Jedinak being left out of the starting line up, Pardew went on to explain that decision and said he felt our Australian skipper was quickly becoming a ‘legend’ at Selhurst Park.

‘I just felt the players I assembled would be right for this particular game. He’s a legend at our place. I know exactly what he can do, but I do need to find out about one or two others before the end of the season. I need to make some decisions on futures. Adrian Mariappa got a game. Joe Ledley got another game in midfield. These are players that I need to see and understand if they can cope.’

One thing Pardew quickly ruled out was the suggestion that Jedinak’s future at the club was in doubt for next season.

‘Not at all.’
