Some bad news amongst the good, it has been confirmed that Glenn Murray has torn his cruciate ligament and could undergo surgery in the next few days.

Speaking to the Croydon Advertiser following our victory over Brighton, Parish explained.

‘His cruciate has torn right the way through, I think it has separated. His cartilage, he’s got problems with that as well, so it’s a pretty bad one. He will go in for the operation either this week or next week, it depends on the swelling.’

Parish says the quicker they can get the surgery done the better because at minimum he’s going to be out for 6 months and if complications hit in his recovery it could be very easily 9 months unfortunately.

Worst possible news for the player really as in either case he’s going to miss a large portion of what everyone hopes will be a Premiership season.
