Palace found themselves 4-1 down at Preston at the weekend and despite a fightback they still went down 4-3 in this championship meeting in the end.

Parkin (13) put Preston ahead but Palace were soon level when Garvan (20) scored. Parkin (25) scored his second shortly after to restore the home sides lead, which was extended further before the break when Treacy (36) scored.

Midway through the 2nd half Davidson (66) extended Preston’s lead with a penalty, although Dorman (69) soon reduced this deficit. With 10 minutes to play a penalty from Vaughan (80) gave Palace hope but that equaliser could not be found.
