Former Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has backed his former club for survival, despite masterminding his QPR team beat them 2-0 on Saturday.
Warnock guided his new team to vital win over a below par Crystal Palace on Saturday but insists he took no pleasure in doing so.
‘We got the points but I haven’t really enjoyed anything about today,’ he told the Croydon Guardian.
‘I was amazed with the reception I got – I expected a lot more boos so I was quite emotional.
‘I worked my socks off while I was here so that meant a lot.
‘I still feel disgusted and don’t understand why a hedge fund put us into administration.
‘But they’ve got enough under the shirt to keep them up.
‘I hope they regroup and get enough points – then we can have a real go at them next year,’ he added.
Meanwhile, current Crystal Palace manager Paul Hart admitted his side were lacklusture and was disappointed for the 20,000 plus crowd in attendance at Selhurst Park.
‘It was very disappointing, it is the poorest we have played since I have been here and it is even more disappointing as we had nearly a full house here today and we didn’t deliver,’ he told the club’s official site.
‘Things did not start well when Calvin (Andrew) was involved in that horrible clash of heads and I personally felt the change did us more harm than it did to them. Calvin has been on fire for us in recent weeks and we lost that threat going in behind straight away,’ he added.
The Eagles now face a tough trip to Derby, a home game against the newly promoted West Bromwich Albion, before what could be a relegation decider at Sheffield Wednesday on May 2.
