Wilfried Zaha isn’t only being targeted on the field he’s being targeted off it too.

Frank de Boer, which is something former Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce mentioned last season, captain Jason Puncheon has also touched upon it too, has said Zaha is being targeted for rough treatment given his ability.

At least, not that it makes it right, Zaha is being handed special treatment physical from opposition players due to the fact they recognise the threat he posses due to his ability.

However, the knuckle dragging few, still living in the dark ages, who seem to think racism is acceptable, have again been highlighted as Zaha has accused some Manchester United and Liverpool fans of racial abuse on social media.

Zaha had posted on Instagram, via the BBC: ‘If Man United and Liverpool fans feel better by calling me a black monkey in my messages .. feel free to carry on if it makes your day better.’

A spokesman for Kick it Out said: ‘Kick It Out was disgusted to read that online racial abuse has been directed at Zaha. It is completely unacceptable that any person should have to suffer this type of abuse.’

Ignorant idiots, which is putting it mildly and as politely as I possibly can, who seem to think these kind of actions are acceptable and can go unpunished are sorely mistaken. Hiding behind a screen to share views isn’t any less of a crime, or wrong, than doing this is person and they can be tracked down.

Palace have also reacted and issued this statement on the Official Website:

‘The following statement has been issued by the club regarding racism and discrimination. Crystal Palace Football Club take all forms of racism and discrimination with the utmost seriousness and will take appropriate measures to ensure abuse of any nature received by players, staff or supporters is reported to the relevant authorities.’
