Palace win in style

What a way to start the new season, how many of you Palace fans would of expected a result like this, who would of thought you could of gone down to Southampton and won by a three goal margin, a draw or nick a win with a last minite goal would be the norm feeling, well Im happy.

Yesterdays game on paper looked to be a home banker, I know most Saints fans would of thought so, even my Vital Saints brother editor thought so,(huge grin), but not all things go according to plan.

Both teams started strongly, both teams had things to prove but it was Palace, who on the half hour struck first, James (the hitman) Scowcroft nodded in a flick from Stuart Green, only a minite later found himself in space again to lob the keeper, Palace 2 nil up in a minite, well you can imagine the Palace faithfull were in full voice.

Palace held the 2-0 lead up until just before halftime when Marek Saganowski pulled one back for the Saints to set up a thrilling second half.

On 56 minites Palace made it 3-1 and Scowcroft earned a hatrick, what seemed like 2 mins Clinton Morrison got in on the act to make it Palace 4-1, only to be subbed 15 mins from time to give Palaces other two strikers, Dougie Freedman and Shefki Kugi a flavour at goal, at full time it remained Palace 4 Southampton 1
