Like you I know, I was there through the injustice, the officiating and the continual pain of it all. We all knew some ten or so plus years ago that if there was any justice in premiership football we would be still be there and that this season we would already be safe with a hat full of points.

Let’s face it when the Glenn Murray’s header in the 90+ whatever minute hit the inside of the post and bounced back the wrong way we knew that justice on a football field consists of pipe dreams and expectations of fairness that will never ever come true, unless you get the luck that the top six teams seem to do in this league.

Life is not like that, I am afraid to say it is not going to be even remotely fair or impartial. It is however going to be cruel and as we witnessed for ourselves this league is totally stacked against us in favour of big spenders with 50 thousand plus stadium capacities and bank balances that are in the green by many more millions of pounds than we could ever dream of matching.

But let’s face it, let us really be honest with ourselves “We are Premiership” and proud of it, proud to be earning more money than we have ever done before. Proud to be in the best and most profitable football completion on earth. We may not be so happy that our team exists at the expense of those who cannot get into this league as we now are, but we fight to keep it every week so that we can have the riches this league is only able to give. This is a fact of life, to succeed others will fail, others will not have those things that we need to stay in and survive this unfair league.

But we should shout louder and prouder of the fact that we are far better than most of this league, regarding the support for its team and the way we so magnificently express how we feel the passion for our Crystal Palace FC. But make no mistake we are far better than those who regularly over stretch their finances as we know only too well it comes back to bite you!

Against Arsenal (and even their manager said they were lucky), Palace were so, so unlucky to come away with nothing despite being far better than their so called illustrious opponents. I for one and I am sure those who really care about Palace, know that we are so close to becoming a regular member of the premier league, so close to being able to go toe to toe with the top ten regularly, fairly and I am so proud of those facts.

We are so close to becoming a power that can be sustained, but we will not become true winners unless we accept the fact that there are one of those who can have the true riches of the premier league and be proud to be at the trough with all the other winners of the greatest show on earth, no matter how unfair it seems!

I for one am proud that Palace are there, I for one want it all for Palace and the real football fans, who else and what else really matters only those Palace fans who truly understand what is at stake if we fail to stay in this greedy, winner takes all unfair, greatest show on earth and I love every minute, every second!
